PC sheet (polycarbonate) is a material that very often is mistaken for Plexiglass. Plexiglass is a tradename of PMMA (acrylic). Long story short: PMMA can break. PC won’t. PC can replace windows, be a protection on the shooting range, or keep hockey players on the ice when tackling. Most commonly, PC is known by one of its tradenames – Lexan. In general, the material has a good temperature range, low water absorption, good dimensional stability, and high surface hardness. It can easily be machined. Since it is transparent, its often used in optical or visual applications. This material is also available as round rods.
